RCT | Novo estudo confirma a ausência de benefício da ivermectina no tratamento do Covid-19

Resumo: O estudo teve como objetivo avaliar se a ivermectina, na dose máxima de 600 μg/kg/dia por 6 dias, seria eficaz na redução da duração dos sintomas ou preveniria a hospitalização em pacientes ambulatoriais com Covid-19 leve a moderada. Um total de 1.206 adultos dos EUA participaram do ensaio clínico randomizado, duplo-cego, controlado por placebo, com dados de acompanhamento até 10 de novembro de 2022. O estudo constatou que o tempo médio para recuperação foi de 11 dias nos grupos que receberam ivermectina e placebo. Entre aqueles que receberam ivermectina, 5,7% foram hospitalizados, faleceram ou tiveram visitas urgentes ou de emergência em comparação com 6% daqueles que receberam placebo. Esses achados, associados a todos os estudos anteriores, não apoiam o uso de ivermectina em pacientes com Covid-19 leve a moderada.
